Garmin has taken the popular GPSMAP 62S GPS and added a 5 megapixel camera with automatic geotagging making the GPSMAP 62sc. Garmin has kept the rugged, compact design. The housing is durable and waterproof to IPX7 standards and the rubber grip on the side assures a firm hold. The generous 2.6” color display is a high resolution, sunlight viewable screen perfect in any outdoor condition. The internal GPS antenna is a high sensitivity powerhouse with HotFix technology to make sure the GPSMAP 62sc has fast acquisition times and unparalled satellite tracking.

Garmin has kept the popular electronic sensors in the GPSMAP 62sc, the barometric altimeter for accurate elevation data and an electronic compass that displays an accurate heading while standing still. Not only does the Garmin 62sc have a microSD card slot but it comes with 3.5GB of internal storage for downloading detailed maps from their Mapsource CD and DVD library. The microSD card slot makes it quick and easy to add detailed maps to the GPSMAP 62sc as most of Garmin’s popular Mapsource titles are also available preloaded to microSD. Get Bluechart G2 cards for marine mapping or detailed Topo 24k maps for the best outdoor mapping. The Garmin BirdsEye satellite imagery is compatible with the Garmin 62 series so with your subscription you can add aerial satellite photos for exceptional detail. You can even use the Garmin Custom Maps software to import your own custom maps into the Garmin 62sc.

The GPSMAP 62sc is an advanced handheld GPS that can help any hunter, hiker, boater or geocacher navigate safely. Using just two AA batteries for up to 20 hours of battery life the 62 will remain lightweight and proved ample usage time.
